Mind

Mind (mahynd, noun): (in a human or other conscious being) the element, part, substance, or process that reasons, thinks, feels, wills, perceives, judges, etc.

mind

There is a Henry Ford quote I’ve always liked: “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.”  Our minds are powerful, which can be our biggest strength and/or our biggest challenge.  What we think and feel impacts every other part of our lives, and it’s core to our ability to be well.  This is an area in which I’m constantly working to get better.  As someone who easily gets stuck in thinking/analysis mode versus action mode, it’s important for me to think clearly about what emotional and rational states enable me to thrive….and to work hard to clear the clutter that all too often fills up my mind.  When I think about the mind area of my wellfesto, here are some of the questions I ask:

  • How much time am I spending thinking about doing things versus actually doing them?
  • Are there times during the day when it’s easiest for me to focus?  How can I shift my day to do the most important things then?
  • How stressed do I feel, and what helps me relieve stress?
  • Am I sleeping enough, and am I sleeping well?

What mind questions are important to you as you put together your wellfesto?
